Bill De La Garza, Board Certified, Family Law-Texas Board of Legal Specialization, earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston in 1973, and he has practiced almost exclusively in divorce and family law ever since. Bill is a tenacious advocate and proven trial lawyer who uses his decades of experience to his clients' advantage. He serves a diverse range of clients who are wrestling with complex issues ranging from divorce, property division and custody disputes to other family law matters, including post-divorce modifications and the rights of unmarried parents, grandparents and adoptive parents.
Mr. De La Garza has long been a leader and active member in numerous professional organizations, including past chair of the Family Law Section of the Houston Bar Association and a past director of the Texas Academy of Certified Family Law Specialists. He has lectured for the State Bar of Texas and other organizations on family law issues and received the Dave Gibson Award for Professionalism and Excellence in the Practice of Family Law in 1997 from the Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists.
Attorney Jo Ann Carter provides counsel, research, litigation support and special areas of focus to our family law practice. She brings nearly 20 years of experience to our mission of quality representation of every individual we serve.
The newest addition to the firm is attorney Mark L. Honsaker who brings with him over 22 years of legal experience in a variety of practice areas. As an experienced trial lawyer, Mr. Honsaker adds another seasoned litigator to our family law team. His extensive legal background also allows firm clients to utilize his skills in the areas of business, civil, criminal, commercial, personal injury, and general legal matters.
